The school building of the former State Vocational School on Aškerčeva cesta in Ljubljana has offered space for various educational courses since 1911. With it, Slovenes, with the help of the then mayor of Ljubljana, Ivan Hribar, and the first principal, Ivan Šubica, got their own secondary school institution, where the language of instruction was Slovenian from the very beginning.
