Canvas sizes and image proportions
Choose a format based on the wall space available and the photo’s width-to-height ratio. If you’re making a square image from a very wide or tall original, you’ll need to crop it or arrange it differently. Before choosing a size, check which parts of the image need to remain visible. Enter custom dimensions in centimetres in the configurator. Check the final dimensions and width-to-height ratio before ordering. For a multi-panel wall display, agree separately on how the image will be divided, the spacing between panels and the final dimensions of each print.
Canvas materials and stretcher frame depths
The configurator offers two canvas materials weighing 260 and 335 g, and stretcher frames with depths of 20, 37 and 50 mm. The depth affects the side profile of the print and how much of the image needs to wrap around the edges. Keep important text, faces and logos away from the edge of the visible area. It can help to look at the wall from the side, especially if the print will hang next to a doorway or passage. Consider the overall effect of the finished piece, not just the front image or the canvas’s nominal dimensions.
Preparing your image and wrapped edges
For canvas printing, use the original file, not a screenshot or a heavily compressed version. The level of detail that works for a smaller print may not be sufficient at a larger size. Suitability depends on the print size, the image content and the viewing distance. If the format, stretcher frame or material differs between items in your order, add them separately; for identical specifications, enter the total quantity and number of images. You can also send files by email or WeTransfer. There’s no need to upload them again if we’ve already received them for this order.

When stretching the canvas, allow for the section that wraps around the stretcher frame. Keep important details within the visible front surface. Confirm the edge finish and required bleed based on the selected format and stretcher frame depth.
Is a photo taken with a phone good enough quality?
It may be, but this depends on the original file and the desired enlargement. Send us the original photo and specify the image format. A small preview or a file compressed for messaging is not a reliable way to assess whether it is suitable for printing.
How do I order a series of different photos on canvas?
For the same size, material and stretcher frame, enter the total quantity and number of images. Add different specifications as separate items. Include the image subject and format in the file names so each image can be clearly matched to its order.
